Computer vision built for the sport

Slipstream is a live sports highlight platform. It uses custom computer vision, live event data and AI to find each moment in your stream and clip it with the right athlete's name, usually within minutes.

How it works

How does Slipstream find highlights in a live stream?

Slipstream syncs to the live stream you already produce and runs computer vision models built for your sport. They follow the action, find the moments that matter and cut them into finished clips while the event is still on. Each clip arrives with a title and description.

How does Slipstream know which athlete is in a clip?

Four signals work together: live event data from the platform running the competition, computer vision on the footage, on-screen text recognition from the broadcast graphics, and announcer audio. Using them together is more accurate than relying on any one of them alone.

Does Slipstream work for sports other than surf?

Yes. Slipstream builds custom computer vision models for each sport, event and video type. Surf is the furthest along, with a proprietary model built for the sport, and the same approach carries to other sports and event formats.

What event data does Slipstream use?

When a platform shares live competition data, such as competitors, jersey colors and heat status, Slipstream uses it to build the AI's instructions in real time. The system knows who is competing as the event unfolds, rather than working it out afterwards.

How fast do clips arrive?

Finished clips are delivered in batches throughout the event, usually within minutes of the moment itself, so a social team can post while the game is still on.

How long does a platform integration take?

Around 2–3 weeks for a new platform partner. Partners work with Slipstream through an API and share the live competition data the models use.

Does Slipstream need new cameras or a new production setup?

No. Slipstream works downstream from the stream you already publish, such as a YouTube live stream. No new cameras, no added crew and nothing to rewire in your production.
